Code of Conduct

At SINA Health, Education & Welfare Trust, our Code of Conduct applies to the trustees and all employees. It reflects our commitment to honesty, integrity, and accountability in everything we do.

A. Business Ethics

  • We conduct all activities with honesty, integrity, and transparency, upholding the highest standards of governance.
  • We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory workplace.
  • SINA does not support political parties or contribute to political interests.
  • We aim to deliver services and training programs that create value and meet community needs.
  • As responsible citizens, we are committed to sustainability and contributing to the betterment of society through healthcare, education, and social impact.

B. Conflicts of Interest

  • Employees must avoid situations where personal interests could conflict—or appear to conflict—with the interests of SINA.
  • Employees and their families should not personally profit from SINA’s facilities or relationships.
  • Any potential conflict or offer of value must be disclosed immediately.
  • Providing preferential treatment to family members or close friends is strictly prohibited.

C. Records & Accountability

  • All medical records, reports, and evaluations must be accurate and maintained to international best practices.
  • Financial statements must follow applicable laws and recognized accounting principles.
  • Employees are expected to sign only those documents they believe to be true and accurate.

D. Environmental Responsibility

  • SINA is committed to conducting its operations in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.

E. Confidentiality

  • Employees must safeguard all confidential information about SINA, its patients, and partners, and must not disclose it unless authorized or legally required.

F. Personal Conduct

  • Employees are expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all dealings.
  • Information must only be shared as part of official duties, with confidentiality agreements observed when required.
  • Bribery, extortion, corruption, and unsafe practices are strictly prohibited.
  • Employees must comply with safety regulations and avoid possession of illegal substances.

G. Compliance & Enforcement

  • All employees are required to comply with the Code of Conduct.
  • Violations may lead to disciplinary action, including dismissal, and legal action if necessary.
  • Employees must annually certify their compliance with this Code.
  • SINA has in place a Whistleblowing Policy to encourage reporting of any non-compliance.

  • 1. Objective

    To familiarize all employees of SINA with the well-defined way of doing business and to conduct themselves as employees of a good corporate citizen.

  • 2. Responsibility

    All Heads of Departments.

  • 3. Policy

    The Code of Conduct is equally applicable to the Board of Trustees as well as all the employees of SINA. The salient features are as follows:

    3.1. Business Ethics
    • 3.1.1 SINA’s policy is to conduct its business with honesty and integrity and be ethical in its dealings, showing respect for stakeholders including shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers and society.
    • 3.1.2 SINA provides a safe and non-discriminatory working environment for all employees.
    • 3.1.3 SINA does not support any political party or contribute funds to groups whose activities promote political interests.
    • 3.1.4 The Board of Trustees and Management are committed to ensuring SINA is a responsible corporate citizen and shall conduct its affairs sustainably.
    • 3.1.5 Operations shall be carried out with minimum adverse effect on the environment and producing quality products in a healthy and safe working environment.
    • 3.1.6 As a responsible corporate citizen, SINA shall promote the betterment of society in health and education sectors as part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
    3.2. Conflicts of Interest
    • 3.2.1 Every employee should conduct personal and business affairs so that neither a conflict, nor the appearance of a conflict, arises between those interests and the interests of SINA.
    • 3.2.2 An employee should avoid situations where they or a family member might profit personally (directly or indirectly) from SINA’s facilities or relationships. Business lunches, nominal giveaways, attendance at conferences/seminars are generally acceptable and not violations of this Code.
    • 3.2.3 An employee should not permit themselves (or family members) to be obligated—other than during normal banking relationships—to any organization or individual with whom SINA has a business relationship.
    • 3.2.4 If offered or receiving something of value that may be impermissible under this Code, the employee should disclose the matter immediately.
    • 3.2.5 All employees shall avoid any kind of bribery, extortion and all other forms of corruption.
    • 3.2.6 Conflicts of interest shall be avoided and promptly disclosed where they exist; guidance should be sought from superiors.
    3.3. Accounting Records, Controls & Statements
    • 3.3.1 All books, records, accounts and statements should conform to generally accepted accounting principles and applicable laws and regulations and should be maintained accurately.
    • 3.3.2 Employees are expected to sign only documents or records which they believe to be accurate and truthful.
    3.4. Environment
    • 3.4.1 SINA is committed to operate in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner and promote preservation and sustainability of the environment.
    • 3.4.2 All employees must adhere strictly to applicable environmental laws and regulations that impact SINA’s operations.
    3.5. Personal Conduct
    • 3.5.1 Employees should conduct themselves with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism on SINA’s business.
    • 3.5.2 Employees shall not disclose confidential SINA information except as required by official duties.
    • 3.5.3 Employees must avoid any form of bribery, extortion or corruption.
    • 3.5.4 Employees should adhere strictly to all safety policies and regulations.
    • 3.5.5 Any illegally prohibited or controlled substances found in possession of employees will be confiscated and may be turned over to authorities.
    3.6. Miscellaneous
    • 3.6.1 All employees must comply with this Code of Conduct and are personally responsible for doing so. Breach may result in disciplinary action and serious breaches (reputational/financial damage) may result in summary dismissal and legal redress.
    • 3.6.2 Employees at all levels will be required to certify annually that they understand and comply with this Code; the Board monitors findings annually.
    • 3.6.3 SINA has a confidential Whistleblowing policy to encourage reporting of any non-compliance with this Code.
